Charging On

Dark clouds looming outside my room. Can hear claps of thunder sporadically. ITS GOING TO POUR! YEAH!!!! I love rain. Don't know why but when I see those huge droplets falling continuosly...it somehow refreshes me. Rain never fails to charge me up. I am thankful that on a day when I'm feeling rather gloomy and drained, the rain comes to perk me up!!! Dread this week. 2 huge assignments in my face and I'm half-way done for each. I know I'm at my peak of stress when my brain is actively thinking about my assignments even when I'm asleep! Arghhhhhhhhh....literally losing hair over it (not that I have alot to spare lor). Gross! Ha..but as I ponder about things, I asked myself if I should need to feel all frus up over assignments! Aren't there more impt things in life than my assignments? Why must all these dumbo assignments and deadlines have such strong control over me, my emotions and well-being!? I believe I'm stronger than that! Come on lah...I'm a produ

A MAGICAL NIGHT

26 September - Friday Event: Inter-GSEL Mini Olympics (Floorball) What a night to remember - night of the underdogs! We came out of nowhere to emerge 2nd in the floorball event :) How much more magical can that get??? The most unbelievable part is we went into the competition expecting to get thrashed in the 1st round and we could all happily head home. We even contemplated disbanding the FB team to pump in more players for the basketball event but thank God we didn't. It was just a night of expecting the unexpected :) Without the magical team, there would be no magical night to relish about. Everyone of us just played to our best, regardless of our levels of proficiencies (FYI: a few are non-sporty pple and 1st time touching FB sticks!) and how amazingly did we gel as a team and simply powered our way through the various qualifying rounds. This magical team was cool as cucumber in every game but we left with style and victory and of course, lots of memories to hold on to! And of

HAPPY 5TH BIRTHDAY JYC!!!

21 SEPT 2008 - 5TH Anniversary of Junior Youth Connection (JYC) A simple anniversary this year. No big hooha but significant nonetheless. Taste and see that the Lord is good.....its more than just a knowledge thingy, but its a lifestyle! God is good, we have experienced it and we know it but we have to SHOW IT. LIVE IT OUT! How else will others then know that He is good? Short and sweet one-liner but takes alot to actualize it. It boils down to the question of really for what do we live this life for? There's only so much that people or things around us can do to truly satisfy us and we still feel 'empty' but the key is in TASTING AND SEEING THAT GOD IS GOOD. He never fails to satisfy us and its forever. JYCers...you are truly blessed to be in this place at a time such as this. You have great things ahead of you. Your generation is awaiting the Daniels, Nehemiahs and Esthers to arise. So is mine. Let's charge on! We know who will always be with us! What's for next y

High Flyer

My date with Audrey Sim! :) Arranged with her to go onto the Flyer with me since we teachers get it free during this month. Thanks to Teacher's Day! But she forgot that she's meeting me to 'fly' today and she didn't put on make up or bring her SLR camera! Tsk tsk...anyhow her misgivings about going on to the Flyer (due to some negative feedbacks from friends) soon turn into much enthusiasm as we were so captivated by the scenic night view from the Flyer. We were so blessed to be able to get on the 7pm ride and it turned out to be a fantastic time. It was the perfect interchange from evening to night and wow..the aerial view was splendid. And we even had a guide on board. Apparently not every carriage has 1. As much as I feel this Flyer thingy is another novelty for Singaporeans but I am glad I had this one-time experience. Haha..Miss Sim Sim even contemplated of going back again before the promotion expires on the 30th Sept. :) Below are a few snapshots of my wonder

Long Weekend!!!!

This week felt really lazy, especially after the Growth and Motor Development test on tuesday. Once the test was over and done with, I felt as though I've completed the whole semester! Haha...it was such a relief to not have any more tests to study. But there are still a few more assignments to complete. Bleah! Anyhow, on tuesday I played to my heart's content after the test. 1. Principles of Games : Striking & Fielding 2. Badminton - short session of 40mins 3. Handball Pick Up - 2 hrs 4. Ultimate Frisbee Pick Up - 3 hrs 5. Dinner/Supper with class dudes at Upper Bukit Timah Rd : Had yummy naan and chicken tikka masala! BUuuurrrrrrrrrrp! Woke up the next day aching all over due to the intensive playing the day before. But no regrets. :) Had only 1 class on Wed and my day was pretty much done. Only went out to do filming for the G & D project. Otherwise, it was soooooo boring, having nothing much to do in school! No wonder, PESS people are the envy of many. We get to pla

Amazing Grace

CHRIS TOMLIN LYRICS "Amazing Grace (My Chains Are Gone)" Amazing grace How sweet the sound That saved a wretch like me I once was lost, but now I'm found Was blind, but now I see 'Twas grace that taught my heart to fear And grace my fears relieved How precious did that grace appear The hour I first believed My chains are gone I've been set free My God, my Savior has ransomed me And like a flood His mercy rains Unending love, Amazing grace The Lord has promised good to me His word my hope secures He will my shield and portion be As long as life endures The earth shall soon dissolve like snow The sun forbear to shine But God, Who called me here below Will be forever mine Will be forever mine You are forever mine This song is on the top of my list this week. Been hearing the song over and over and over and over again! Addictive listening :) More than just myself being saved, its about His Amazing Grace and Unending Mercy. More than just ourselves, its about Him who

Memorable Memories

Below are some of the jolly good times I had with some of my friends from church. Many of them are my little girlies whom I 'look after' in my youth ministry. I love them lots! Not a single time when I was with them did I feel bored or sian..in fact being with them brings out the childlikeness in me and I am so grateful for everyone of them who loves me and also like spending their time with me! :) Looking from some of the pics, I realised most of my hang out times involved food! Friends who eat together stay together!!!!! Lim Xi and Alysson enjoying their treat at Secrets Receipe. There was the Chocoloate Banana (SR's hot cake!) and Macademia Cheesecake. I had the Carrot Cake! And look at Alysson - her expression says it all. Lim Xi on the other hand, was able to contain her satisfaction pretty well haha...but they both ravished their cakes! But me..... I so could not finish my portion! The cake was huge can! And the creamy cheesy layer on top didn't whet my appeti

New Found Friends

11 September 2008 - Interclass Touch Rugby Game Winner : Class 3B (i.e. my class :) ) Our 1st and well-deserved victory We worked hard for it with dedicated team captains (Gideon and Ren Han) who took time off to hold short training sessions for newbies. During the games itself, we fought hard with tremendous support and faith coming from other classmates and even coursemates of another class. The taste of victory was made sweeter knowing that we there were so much moral support coming from the sidelines. Haha..the crowd was rather tame that night as compared to the basketball and soccer matches. Maybe there were less people around this time but nonetheless my class was 'LOUD' in our spirits and sense of camaraderie. Winning aside, the stronger bond that's being established was more significant and memorable. See....there's definitely more to games than just winning! Hopefully this will be the start to greater things ahead for the class. THE WHACKY CLASS OF 2008 - PG
