ONLY BY GRACE

This trip to Shangri-La has been enriching for me. Finally after 6 years, I managed to return and it was just a well-spent 1 week.  I went with almost zero expectations. I figured I would be task to help out at the cafe and that was just about it.  I was not on a mission trip but it was nothing stressful to sit at the counter of the bakery and help to pack freshly baked bread/muffins/cookies and selling them. In fact, observing how professional the staff was left me very amazed at what has happened in the last 8 years, since I did my mission internship there.  Conversations with the staff and, especially Jo, were food for the soul. Without fail, every conversation usually would leave me pondering on many things. If this was how God wanted me to spend my holidays, I definitely would not have traded it for something else.  One of the many takeaways I had from this trip was about DISCIPLESHIP .   I kept thinking about YA during my time in SL; the lives and how can we

BOOMER AND STRIKER!   The ever cuddly and lovely doggies of the Keh's household.  IN & OUT.  I spent half of my time at the bakery and even though I did not work as hard as the staff, I felt I have learnt so much just by observing what went about in the cafe and bakery.  At the end of the day, what really touched my heart was how much have gone in to disciple the lives of the staff in these 10 years. The growth in the community, which I have seen for myself in the past week, just overwhelmed me.  Essentially, it is not the work of the ministry but how the work  has worked out the workings of the Holy Spirit in the people.  That is what is all about.  Shangri-La will always hold a special place in my heart because this is where I first encountered God's heart for His people (Chinese in particular) and I saw the needs and now the transformation.  To God be the glory!

GASPS! THE LAST ENTRY WAS AUGUST 2012! Goodness gracious me.  I did have intentions of updating my blog but as you can tell, it remained an intention. No action was taken.  Anyhow, I will take this break to finally clean off the dust that has now caked this blog page.  AKAN DATANG!
