The Good Ole Days

Facebook is sick. Very sick. I can't seem to upload any pictures. Been trying for like almost 10xs. Give up. So blog I shall. Addie, Joani & self finally had a get together after finishing their practicum, which they both did excellently! So glad for both of them :) And as usual, when we meet, we always eat! No exception this time. And in a span of 1 week, we met up twice and the holes in our pockets just grew bigger. Well, you can see we are quite hungry for some good food, but I think we are even hungrier for the good ole times. As you can see, we didn't change much! Still very much cam-whorers. The only difference : different venue and maybe prettier! With Addie, we need Halal food. So Joani and myself hunted for one @ Marina Sq and finally settled for Tambuah Mas (Indonesian). Truly sedap. I got praised for my choice. Then not many days later, we scoured for authentic Turkish cuisine @ Haji lane after browsing through some boutiques. With Joani, cannot miss out on shop

Nostalgia

First time hanging out with this bunch and it will be one unforgettable one. Irony is I grew up with a few of them (in church) but would not consider myself to be particularly close to any of them. However, at dinner last night, it sure didn't feel so. The endless cheeky banter & laughter that rang through the restaurant was surprisingly cool and 2 hours just went by without us knowing. It was even 'cooler' when one of them mentioned that 10 years ago, it was this same group (more or less) that met at Seoul Garden and a decade later, we meet again. Amazing ay? Someone then mentioned its 'nostalgic'. Rightly so. I can't help but be constantly amazed at FRIENDSHIPS & RELATIONSHIPS . They are indeed God's gift to everyone. But its no surprise since He's a God of relationships. And this is what christianity is ALL about. Not religion but relationship. Was out with a friend a few days back and he commented that he would go for christianity for the so

Inspired to Inspire

Feeling refreshed after an almost 3 hours of morning run. I'm patting myself for a run well ran. Covered the Kallang Park & Bishan Park Connectors where I had to conquer 3 overhead bridges! Good training for the Sundown Marathon next week. Last minute though. Had a sudden urge to check out Ralph Waldo Emerson quotes and I love a few I found. I like that as I ponder on what I read, I could see its relevance in my life & beliefs. I like that I can stimulate & inspire myself. I like that as I get inspired, I get to inspire others as well. I hope. 1) What lies behind you and what lies in front of you, pale in comparison to what lies inside of you. Character beats everything else. What am I made of? What are you made of? It has always been my belief that inside everyone of us, there is a lion awaiting to roar. No matter how great the circumstances may be around us, we can surmount them! 2) “Whatever course you decide upon, there is always someone to tell you that you are wro

Food, Glorious Food

Great food needs to be appreciated and savoured by foodie lovers like me. I'm so glad I'm not alone in this. Korean fare @ Chinatown : Jang Hon Authentic korean settings & dishes. We enjoyed the side dishes so much that we wanted to have extra serving but decided against it because no one else did that! Anais : my partner-in-crime #1 Bean paste soup : extraordinarily tasty and its just spoonful after spoonful. Simple side dishes but very yummy. Don't know how they did it! Dol Sot Bi Bim Bab (with beef) Aussie fare @ Double Bay, Raffles City The place looks classy and expensive but we found out the prices were actually very reasonable given their servings and quality of food. With Joanna - my 2nd partner in crime Starter : Rare Pacific Tuna Salad Main #1 : Pan Roasted Sea Bass Main #2 : Pan Roasted Carribean something... Dessert #1 : Pavlova Unique blend of sweet, sour & tangy-ness of the lemon meringue pastry, custard and forest berry sorbet. Dessert #2 : B

CONNECTIONS

The camp did little to hype me up. Wasn't satisfied with the planning & activites. Thought it could be made much more exciting & engaging. Nevertheless, I still came back with a few thoughts running through my head and I suppose there will be take-aways albeit a few. But better than none! THE SIXERS The greatest satisfaction of this camp is the CONNECTIONS between myself & some of my coursemates. My group was made up of 3Aians whom I seldom talk to in school. Yet it was pleasantly pleasant having to see another side of them. I've always known 3Aians to be the logical, steady, down-to-earth and they are no doubt. Yet I got a taste of their cheekiness as well and they are not as dull as I've always imagined them to be. Let's just say we complement one another in our differences and it was a good synergy that I saw. My other 2 lego-fied friends! Human relations are ever so mind-boggling. When people come together, its either going to be a good chemistry or
Now on to the micro stuff : My holidays have officially started although the impression I gave to people is that I have been on one for a while! They didn't know I was on a study break for 2 weeks, but pretty much a holiday also. There were many things lined up and slowly and steadily, I'm beginning to accomplish some of the things I set out to do. Progress Report: 1. Cafe Sutra Hmmmm...no deliberate effort on my part to hunt cafes out as of now. So far, they have just been chance encounters. Nonetheless, the few I've been were quite satisfying. Latest find : Rider's Cafe (somewhere along Turf City). I like the interior look but the only drawback is that I need a car to get there! Drats! Apparently, many of the quaint, nice cafes are located at really inaccessible areas and this is why I'm so reluctant to hunt them out. 2. Windsurfing/Sailing Courses Just went through my basic windsurfing course on sat and it was a rocking good time. The wind, waves & water were

So much in a short time

Its been some time since I sat down to 'pen' down my thoughts. Its the holidays for me now but ironically,I find myself blogging more when I'm busier. In fact, with so many happening happenings these days, I would not have a lack of things to reflect and blog on. But I succumbed to laziness. Period. Well this pretty much sums up my training progress for the Adidas Sundown Marathon on the 30th May! All the best to me. Hopefully it will not be a repeat telecast of the crampful SCM last year. Was browsing through some of my friends' bloggies and so it kinda motivated me to also put down into words what have been going through my mind these days. Furthermore, with the cool breeze blowing into my room, the ambience is almost perfect (of course ignoring the messy state of my room!). Let's start with the macro stuff: 1. Swine / Influenza A (H1N1) Virus Once again, the world is brought to its knees. 6 years ago, SARS; 6 years later, Swine flu. What next? Vegetable or fruit

THE TIME HAS COME

NO TRESPASSING! Time to take back what has been 'stolen'. NO GREED; NO NEEDS GREAT POWER; GREAT GRACE The time is now to make a stand. To show the world who we are made to be. Not cowards but a bold people with a voice. Lambs with the heart of a lion within. If it is not now, then when. Period of passivity is over. It is time to get up and get out.
