All In A Week's

The week went by not without a fruitful day. It was either time well-spent with family, friends or myself. Realised that it is really up to the individual to make the best of each day that comes. You either be nua-ing the whole day and wasting 24hrs or purposefully making each second count. I chose the latter. Brief Recount 1. 1st All-Girls Outing (with Liling & Yixin) Location : Little India Highlight(s): - 1st time doing manicure/pedicure/threading - Sporty gals getting in touch with their feminine side. We're not just all brawns (& brains) but beauty too! Jothi's Traditional Charm - had a very Balinese touch to the layout of the shop Liling's finished product! 2. Class Outing Location : Brewerks (Kallang) & Kallang Leisure Bowl Highlight(s): - A few met up earlier to makan at Brewerks and we had feast, courtesy of Mr Renhan who always makes sure that there's more than enough to go around! - bowling session didn't start till 3pm and we were all tired

Dignified DEPARTURES

Death is releasing and dignified. Such is the portrayal of a morbid topic in Departures. Provided a different dimension to life. Regardless of age, social backgrounds and gender, all are deserving of a dignified departure from earth. Departures showed how it is possible for loved ones to remember nothing but the beautiful memories of the one whom has departed. They may have had differences or maybe estranged from one another, but when they are gathered to send the person off on his/her last journey, what confronts them are the good memories. In this sense, death is not just releasing to the dead but the living as well. Ingenious plot that manages to weave both the themes of humor and grief beautifully together.

Worthy 2 Quote

" There's no higher than The Most High." - Uncle Ed Pousson " Walking right doesn't make God-lovers. Walking right just makes it easier for Him to bless and use you." - Uncle Ross Patterson. 2 powered statements from 2 power servants of God in 2 power weeks. What more can I say? Let my words be few then.

THE BASH

We walked and we bashed and we crashed! Started our trek at MacRitchie and our final destination would be Bukit Timah Nature Reserve. Did our research and the total distance to cover would be about 11km. I estimated we would need at most 4 hours to complete it whereas Lynn said 5 hours. She was right in the end. Nope...we weren't moving like snails, in fact our walking pace was good. Rather, it was an oversight on our part that got us lost deep in the heart of the forest, which we had to bash through! The duo started out excitedly, cam-whoring away & snapping at whatever that caught our attention- ants, color of tree thrunks, pollution and even canoeists! Nearing half-way through, we were even thinking of what to eat for lunch as our tummies started to growl in protest. When we saw the signage directing us to Bukit Timah Nature Reserve, we grew even more excited. We continued to trudge through the supposedly 5.8km trek to BTNR, totally unaware for what was installed for us. We

Finito

The curtain comes down for another semester yet again. This semester in particular went by so fast I didn't even realise its gone! I'm almost 1 year into my NIE training. Time just passes ridiculously fast these days. Past few weeks, it was just clearing deadlines after deadlines and when its all over, the pace just slowed down tremendously. Ahead of me is a looooooooooooooongggggggg break till end June when I go for my first TP. In between, I've already got plans: night cycling, cafes sutra, training for Sundown Marathon, try out sailing & windsurfing, PE outdoor camp, cambodia mission trip. Hmmm seems quite eventful already but must remind myself not to jam-packed my schedule and learn to rest when I need to. My weakness - don't know when to stop! Approaching a rest stop soon in this journey I'm on, so take time to recuperate, recharge and be refreshed before I start moving ahead again.

Back to Beginning

Never forget our roots; our humble beginnings. .我 们 要 饮 水 思 源. The path of humility is the road to greatness. It is a narrower path for sure and along the way, some of us will fall out and choose the easier path. Smallness leads to greatness. Sounds paradoxical but that's how The Kingdom of God operates. "The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise." - Psalm 51:17
