Chill after much buzz

What's up Gracias??
Here goes my week's happenings and I can't believe another week is gone!
1. IS (Instructional Strategies) Module.
It is unbelievable the amount of hours poured into the planning for just 3 weeks of micro-teaching. Yet I'm enjoying the group I'm with; the nonsensical moments and frustrations from being so inefficient at times all but make the experience even more enriching. The process is what counts and I'm just glad that the kids I'm taking are responding positively to our lessons. That sure made all our efforts worthwhile.

2. Ubin Trek - Chek Jawa (Hari Raya Holiday)
My 2nd visit but this time I cycled and it was shiok! Almost 50+ of us went and we practically hogged the entire island with our mere presence! Blessed with perfect weather and it was just a really good time of catching up with one another in a healthy manner.

Enjoyed the short walk, taking in the cool breeze and serenity of the surroundings. There's just something about being IN nature. It makes you just want to be still and that realization of myself as being that tiny fragment of the greatness around me simply humbles me. I soaked in the moment of thankfulness that I can be part of this grand scheme of things, to not just see but am involved in all that He's doing.

Who said gals can't go crazy & yet remain beautiful??

My lunchie group. We had 7 tables in total, each with 10 pax! So do your math.

Met up with Sim Sim that evening and we relished in some delactable Korean cuisine. Korean food is the 'IN' choice for me and a few friends these days. Just cannot get enough of it. Don't get me started on the korean dramas (light-hearted ones of course!)!!!!!!!!!!!!!

All in all, a good break to have. It was a monday, my longest day in the week and I'm just glad for this brief respite!

3. ICG Season!

3B OOoohhhhhhsssssssssss!

1 year on and the ICG season is here yet again. The enthusiasm is kinda fizzled out this year. It was much much more meaningful when we were still bonding as a class and the ICG did help.

What's different this time though is that all the 3 girls of 3B are back in action TOGETHER. I need not have to brave the ICG season all by myself already. Yeah!!!!

But this year, the inertia and lethargy are so real. Having said that, when we do play, we are like raging bulls! Don't believe. See some pictures below.

Volleyball ICG 09 - didn't get through to finals but expected! Nonetheless, we improved from last year and we still put on a good fight.

This celebratory picture after winning the 1st set was taken thinking that we won and was done for the night. It turned out we had 2 more sets (of 3 games) to go! Complacency didn't get us far.

Yet we always find joy in the midst of pressure. We know how to really have fun by just being ourselves.

Touch Rugby 09'- Retained our title as champion.

A few snapshots of some of our brilliant passes and try by different individuals.

Wangster scoring a try after Han made a fantastically deceptive move (see below)

Weixiong whose speed broke through all barriers to get the next try. He's compact and a living dynamite!

Done with volleyball and touch rugby. More to come....

4. JYC 6th Anniversary, 20th Sept 2009 : Blessing Others, Light in Darkness (B.O.L.D)

Another year, another generation raised.

May they truly be BOLD & COURAGEOUS to be the light in darkness; to live out the beautiful destiny in all of them.

All the buzz lately and for now I just want to be able to be at Starbucks drinking my Java Chip, chill, read a book and watch the world go by. Feels its time to just 'catch my breath'.

Sitting down in front of the computer and listening to 'All The Earth' for the 10th time. Its Anais's off day and we have been trying to upload our pictures onto Facebook. I've got my Day 1 up but poor Ana, still trying to get hers up! Have been in Cambodia for 5 days and returning to Singapore on thursday. Previously, time seem to snail by but as I browsed through the pictures taken of the past few days, I realised that its not that slow after all. Coming to Cambodia this time was different. Was supposed to lead a team to LIA but ended up not because of lack of preparation time and inadequate response. Anyhow, I just felt I should make a personal trip up to see for myself the work at LIA and sense what God is doing in this land. Prior to the trip, I've been reading about Cambodia's news and they just appear everyday in the papers. Well it can't be more clear than this so I went. Followed Anais as she goes to and fro the b oys' & girls' home to t

Breather

Back from a Sec 3 level camp in JB, Tanjung Piai. Thought I could have the week's off to clear my brain's cache and prepare my lesson plans but alas...I'm down for ODAC camp and sec 4s' oral exam mock practice! When can I have my breather???? Sometimes I wonder whether returning to a familiar place is good for me after all. I'm like on the 'Wanted' list for this committee, that committee, this event, that event etc. Not that I'm popular or high-in-demand, its just that I'm nicely available. I'm not usually mindful of taking on responsibilities. Its just that during these 10 weeks, I reckon is a crucial component of my NIE understudy and I am not wanting to settle for something less in my planning (although i really hate lesson plannings!). But I'm so stretched! I feel like screaming: " GIVE ME MY SPACE!" To say the least, I'm feeling stressed. Most unfortunately, I'm not given the option to say 'No'. Not until I get

Eat....Laugh....Be Merry!

Anais and myself finally satisfied our craving for chilli crab...after 2 weeks! YESSSSSSSSSSHHHHHHH.........:) happy happy! Together with Ben, Brian and my sis, we headed to Sembawang to indulge in some seafood delicacies that included huge cereal prawns and stingray. It was also a form of celebration for Anais who graduated not too long ago! You bet we were so stuffed after that! Anais still wanted ice-cream after the meal but we were already max. out in terms of stomach's space and capacity. Yummy food was of course the highlight but what was more memorable was the company. First time hanging out with Ben and Brian and it turned out to be a hilarious time! Good food eaten with 'happening' people makes it even more tasty. I treasured this time of fellowshipping as I got to see a different side of people and getting to know them better. More of such makan sessions is good for bonding!
