Now on to the micro stuff :

My holidays have officially started although the impression I gave to people is that I have been on one for a while! They didn't know I was on a study break for 2 weeks, but pretty much a holiday also. There were many things lined up and slowly and steadily, I'm beginning to accomplish some of the things I set out to do.

Progress Report:

1. Cafe Sutra
Hmmmm...no deliberate effort on my part to hunt cafes out as of now. So far, they have just been chance encounters. Nonetheless, the few I've been were quite satisfying. Latest find : Rider's Cafe (somewhere along Turf City). I like the interior look but the only drawback is that I need a car to get there! Drats! Apparently, many of the quaint, nice cafes are located at really inaccessible areas and this is why I'm so reluctant to hunt them out.

2. Windsurfing/Sailing Courses
Just went through my basic windsurfing course on sat and it was a rocking good time. The wind, waves & water weren't really in our favour as beginners but we still managed to pick up the basics. Mingle said windsurfing is the toughest water sport to learn but I won't know since I haven't tried all water sports yet. Anyhow, there are just many elements to consider in just getting myself moving on the water and really, its not as simple as it seems! But as with many sports, it gets easier with more practice and attempts so I'm game for more.

Up next is sailing but its happening only this thurs & fri.
Will remember my sunblock then, if not, my face which is peeling like crazy already will just continue peeling! Am excited for it!!!

3. Room clean up
Well well...its happening slowly. Just did part 1 of the spring-cleaning i.e. cleaning & clearing my wardrobe/cupboards. The dust & dirt accumulated was unspeakable. How on earth did I survived all this while? Had to use Dettol to boost the 'immunity' of my room. With the virus lurking around, better to be safe than sorry! Part 2 of clean up will take place soon....I promise it will!

4. Sundown Marathon Training
As mentioned, training is hindered by the discipline and weather elements! The past few morning runs were marred by the welcomed rain and it was just a perfect reason to continue sleeping rather than don the running shoes and get wet. Errrr..but I have only 3 more weeks to go. Oooops..

Well preparing to go for my 1 week PE outdoor cum residential camp next week. 7 days! I normally love outdoor camps but not this. Don't know why. Low expectations but maybe I will be pleasantly surprised by the end of the camp. I do hope so. If all programs fail, at least I get to bond with my classmates/coursemates since we will be confined together.

Before I know it, the holidays will be over and so better make it count because my honeymoon period in NIE is approaching its end real soon. So I shall stop writing and just bask in the freedom I have now.

SHAKING OFF THE DUST

Its been a long hiatus :) So many things have taken place and so many reflections to document but the inertia to do it was just to great to resist. Anyhow, decided to take some time during this break to start the 'blogging engine' going again. Hopefully, it revives my hope and wish to keep this site alive.  Just had the annual ODAC camp @ Ubin and while trekking around the island with the kiddies yesterday, I chanced upon this little grasshopper at the Sensory Trail. I managed to get up close and personal for this shot, which was taken with my new iPhone 7 ahem. Image was sharp and it looked great!  And the verse that came to mind was: "Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your Heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?....Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble." - Matthew 6: 26-34 In my rest...

Count your blessings

I bought this set of keychain for my gramps. So cute right? They both love it to bits man! Haha..I'm proud of myself. A wise person said this to me this morning: "when you count your blessings, you will find many things to be thankful for...". True true. Been rather short fused these days and especially with family members. My grandma bore the brunt of it on monday when she suddenly appeared at NCC with my grandpa. I wasn't expecting her and so when I saw her, I was quite mean to ask why she was there when I actually know her intentions. I felt the way I felt because firstly I was already bothered about how to take care of grandpop when he sighs and worries about his discomfort and blah and then grandmop comes along and be herself (complain complain and ask same questions 1001 times etc). Double whammy! Anyway in a nutshell, the wise person told me early in the morning that grandmop upset that I brushed her aside that day, which I know was baddie bad bad :( ok i will...

PSALM 121

I lift my eyes to the hills - where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth. He will not let your foot slip - he who watches over you will not slumber; indeed, he who watches over Israel, will neither slumber nor sleep. The Lord watches over you - the Lord is your shade at your right hand; the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night. The Lord will keep you from all harm - he will watch over your life; The Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore. Many a times, man fails to keep his promise but God never. He makes a promise and we can be so sure He will keep it forever and ever. Man may fail but He nevers. Sometimes, we may wonder if God is really doing the right thing for us but I know one thing - trusting Him is the only thing that can never go wrong :)
