Back!

Almost a week since I last blogged.

Come to think about it, not sure what I have been busy with, except for the brain-tangling ed psych essay which I am finally done with!!! What a relief. It is officially my last assignment for the semester and I can rest easy. Ok Ok...there's exams but revision can wait! Haha

Memorable moments this week:

1. Accompanying my grandpop for his radiation treatment. This week was my first time with him at the centre and emotions inevitably welled up. I didn't cry but felt a bit sad to see my bestest friend having to make his daily trips to NCC for treatment. But he's such a role model. His spirit is still going strong and for his age, his perserverance is commendable! I have so much to learn from grandpop. His throat is feeling more sore this week and treatment has gone into 2nd phase (zero in on tumor) yet he's always determined to rise above the discomfort and carry out his daily routines as far as possible. I know and I sense his weariness (mentally) but his fighting spirit is evident. Thank God for His grace thus far. I believe grandpop will be good. Anyhow, I'm always thankful to have him as my grandpapa - someone whom not many can match up to. I'm blessed.

Handsome, charming Grandpop and radiant me!

Had lunch at this Jap place in Central. Yummy curry udon.

2. Rugby final session - carnival cum tournament. Wow my team was TOPS! (from the bottom). Hehe..we lost almost, erm actually EVERY of the 4 games we played. Unbelievable. Nevertheless, we were still happy and more importantly we had fun. What will I remember of rugby lessons henceforth? Hmmmm.....tough to answer. Haha.....THE PEOPLE! (politically correct answer)

My ruggie team - ITALY. Supposed to be decked in blue but

we became blue-black!

My ruggie class together with Tom Brown, my lecturer.

3. Had a crab feast at the renowned Melbourne coffee shop at AMK with a few of my classmates, followed by a 3hr session of prawning. I had fun though I kind of burn a huge hole in my pocket from that one evening! Well well...good memories are priceless so heck with the $$$$! Oooohhhh...prawning was a test of my patience and I think fishing or prawning really not my kind of activities. But the experience was cool. Must try fishing next although I don't think I can sit still waiting for the fishy :)

Unforgettable the taste! The other highlight was the crab bee hoon

which I didn't kodak it. Must eat to believe how good it is.

My 1st attempt at prawning and I caught 1.

4. Doing my ed psych essay 3 days before deadline. Firstly, I underestimated the level of difficulty of this assignment. It turned out to be so much harder than I thought. Secondly, it was my first time starting on a 2500 word essay so late! I usually would start a week earlier but not this time. But amazingly, I was able to stay cool. Maybe I have learn to take things in my stride. Good! Nevertheless, it was a 'painful' writing experience! Psychology in its essence - confusion, confusion and more confusion! The more I write, the more I don't know what I'm writing. Oxymoronic? Yes! Very much so!

All said and done!
Now looking forward to my Batam getaway next week!
More updates then...

Ok....sometimes I'm grateful that I'm a teacher because we are really one of the few professions who will enjoy such privileges :) Introducing the bevy of gorgeous ladies of Pei Hwa Sec : Miss Grace Tan, Miss Sophia Tan, Miss Shirley Tan and Miss Roslinda ! Don't you love the donkey ears???!!! WE WERE SERIOUSLY AMUSING OURSELVES IN THE SOUVENIR SHOP! Alright...this is the first but not my last time visiting U.S.S because I'll be going there again in Nov for my dept's learning journey. Don't ask me how we are going to think up PE lessons from visiting the theme park but miracles do happen! So after loosening the leash around the 51 kids whom we accompanied yesterday evening, the 6 female teachers (where are all the men??? tsk tsk...) went about to have a wild time of feasting on 20" pizzas, running after cart...

SHAKING OFF THE DUST

Its been a long hiatus :) So many things have taken place and so many reflections to document but the inertia to do it was just to great to resist. Anyhow, decided to take some time during this break to start the 'blogging engine' going again. Hopefully, it revives my hope and wish to keep this site alive.  Just had the annual ODAC camp @ Ubin and while trekking around the island with the kiddies yesterday, I chanced upon this little grasshopper at the Sensory Trail. I managed to get up close and personal for this shot, which was taken with my new iPhone 7 ahem. Image was sharp and it looked great!  And the verse that came to mind was: "Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your Heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?....Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble." - Matthew 6: 26-34 In my rest...

Count your blessings

I bought this set of keychain for my gramps. So cute right? They both love it to bits man! Haha..I'm proud of myself. A wise person said this to me this morning: "when you count your blessings, you will find many things to be thankful for...". True true. Been rather short fused these days and especially with family members. My grandma bore the brunt of it on monday when she suddenly appeared at NCC with my grandpa. I wasn't expecting her and so when I saw her, I was quite mean to ask why she was there when I actually know her intentions. I felt the way I felt because firstly I was already bothered about how to take care of grandpop when he sighs and worries about his discomfort and blah and then grandmop comes along and be herself (complain complain and ask same questions 1001 times etc). Double whammy! Anyway in a nutshell, the wise person told me early in the morning that grandmop upset that I brushed her aside that day, which I know was baddie bad bad :( ok i will...
