Baby Bonus



My latest investment : a road bike.


Model : Helios (Polygon) 200 (most basic for entry level to do a triathlon)



Cost : $750 (excluding accessories) but in total $910.


So there goes a bulk of my bonus but its an investment I've been planning for.


Goal of 2010 : To complete the OSIM triathlon!


I know nuts about bikes but fortunately got friends who are well-versed in such things and so my job becomes easier i.e. just learn how to mount and dismount a road bike gracefully and with poise!
Had to try it out at the shop and I wasn't in my most sporty attire but heck! I was guided by the assistant as I had problems mounting and stopping!! I was doing gymnastic moves in public!
Well well....its all part of the package call 'LEARNING' so once I get used to it (hopefully soon), I will be off to a flying start!
As of now, I'm delighting in my Christmas pressie to myself.

Wo(Man) of the hour

As I read the tribute to the late Dr Goh Keng Swee, I can't help but feel this profoundly deep admiration for this immensely brilliant forefather of Singapore. I was in awe of his contributions and how his influence is so pervasive in modern Singapore, yet so few actually heard and know of his legacy. The more I read on about what people remembered of him and his long list of accolades, the more proud I am to be a Singaporean. I never knew places of interests like our zoo, bird park and even Sentosa were his ideas! These are just a tiny fraction of his contributions. Strangely, my heart was pounding as I read and later reflected on this titan's life. SHAKING OFF THE DUST

Its been a long hiatus :) So many things have taken place and so many reflections to document but the inertia to do it was just to great to resist. Anyhow, decided to take some time during this break to start the 'blogging engine' going again. Hopefully, it revives my hope and wish to keep this site alive.  Just had the annual ODAC camp @ Ubin and while trekking around the island with the kiddies yesterday, I chanced upon this little grasshopper at the Sensory Trail. I managed to get up close and personal for this shot, which was taken with my new iPhone 7 ahem. Image was sharp and it looked great!  And the verse that came to mind was: "Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your Heavenly Father feeds them.
