Here I come again.....

Feeling utterly bored on a Sat!
Woke up at 9am (instead of 7am to do my run) coz I was so tired last night. The Barker's run compounded by little sleep the previous night due to Ed Psych essay enabled me to sleep so soundly till this morning! :)

That Jonana not available for our long awaited high-tea session and I have the afternoon free. Waiting for the ODACians next move in their RITE so I can meet them for a short while. Meanwhile, I'm 'buah long longing' at home. This is crazy lor.....I think after all the hoo ha over my assignments in the last few weeks my whole system has to re-adjust to the 'more relaxed' mode. Haha...can relax now but don't know how to! So silly and bizzare!
It always happens. When I'm free and want to meet up with people, somehow these people are not free! Then when they ask me out, I'm not available. Timing usually this salah parking lor. And I want to have time alone, people will also ask me out! But when I don't want to be alone (like now!) i don't know who's free and wat to do!. gosh....

Anyhow, thank God for the avenue to blog! Haha..at least there's something for me to wild my time away and its purposeful. So I will update on the Barker's run yesterday evening. And because of the run, I had to miss BYO which I'm sure was great fun! Nonetheless, I had fun with my team during the run too.

The run was just 600m (middle distance) and I am not a sprinter or middle distance runner. So it was extremely painful to chiong. Well its not possible to sprint the whole 600m lah but it requires longer stride and more speed as compared to long distance run..DUH! So not quite used to it but I still went for it. Always good to try out different things and learn more. Such training in future would benefit me when I do my long distance runs.

The team of wild horses with Mr C. Kunalan - our very homegrown sprinter.

Always an inspiration and role model :)

From left: Wilfred, Gideon, Kok Soon, me, Yu Chze and Kenny

The few of us goofing around after our run.

As usual. A bunch of posers

We won the Men Doubles event with Kenny-ball and Kok Soon leading the pack! coolios lor!
Forfeited the Women Doubles coz I was the only gal representing the class (what's new!) but highly unlikely we will win even if we take part ..haha
Then for the team's event comprising Wilfred, Gideon, Yu Chze and myself, we didn't come in Top 3 but still ran our best. Proud of each and everyone of us!

Barker's Run marks the last of the Inter-class events for this semester. Quite relieved coz that means less weekdays evening taken up by the games haha and I can do my other things. But that means I have to keep engaging myself in other physical activities to keep my 'engine' running. Yah means serious last minute training for the 2008 marathon man. Its the time of the year again.

Tis a season to be ACTIVE!!!

okie dokie..that irritating Jonana suddenly can meet now. So off I am to meet my bestie!

Wo(Man) of the hour

As I read the tribute to the late Dr Goh Keng Swee, I can't help but feel this profoundly deep admiration for this immensely brilliant forefather of Singapore. I was in awe of his contributions and how his influence is so pervasive in modern Singapore, yet so few actually heard and know of his legacy. The more I read on about what people remembered of him and his long list of accolades, the more proud I am to be a Singaporean. I never knew places of interests like our zoo, bird park and even Sentosa were his ideas! These are just a tiny fraction of his contributions. My gosh....it was just an incredible discovery and I was hooked to the Saturday's Special edition on 'Remember Dr Goh Keng Swee'. Strangely, my heart was pounding as I read and later reflected on this titan's life. Instinctively, a question came to mind i.e. will there be another titan like Dr Goh, Mr Lee KY, Mr Wee Kim Wee or the other members of the Old Guard in my generation? Will I get to see one em...

SHAKING OFF THE DUST

Its been a long hiatus :) So many things have taken place and so many reflections to document but the inertia to do it was just to great to resist. Anyhow, decided to take some time during this break to start the 'blogging engine' going again. Hopefully, it revives my hope and wish to keep this site alive.  Just had the annual ODAC camp @ Ubin and while trekking around the island with the kiddies yesterday, I chanced upon this little grasshopper at the Sensory Trail. I managed to get up close and personal for this shot, which was taken with my new iPhone 7 ahem. Image was sharp and it looked great!  And the verse that came to mind was: "Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your Heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?....Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble." - Matthew 6: 26-34 In my rest...

PSALM 121

I lift my eyes to the hills - where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth. He will not let your foot slip - he who watches over you will not slumber; indeed, he who watches over Israel, will neither slumber nor sleep. The Lord watches over you - the Lord is your shade at your right hand; the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night. The Lord will keep you from all harm - he will watch over your life; The Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore. Many a times, man fails to keep his promise but God never. He makes a promise and we can be so sure He will keep it forever and ever. Man may fail but He nevers. Sometimes, we may wonder if God is really doing the right thing for us but I know one thing - trusting Him is the only thing that can never go wrong :)
