ONLY BY GRACE

10th JULY 2010 Wedding of my very good friend. A queen like her deserves a king and I had the privilege of witnessing and being a part of this beautiful union. Well well....I realised something while resting my sore feet after a whole day of standing on really high heels and that is: marriage is the sweet fruit reaped from the patience of waiting . Blessed union my dearest friend.

Woke up to a breezily cool rainy morning and there goes my Tri training plan yet again. But no complains since I get to wake up later instead of the usual 5am to get ready for school. Oh yes...back to the grind of teaching after the June hols that seemed like a dream. If the hols was a dream, I sure woke up from it on my 1st official day of teaching as a full-fledge teacher. As I said before, time and tide really waits for no man in this profession. Pass through the school gates and its automatic suction into the whirlwind of school's affairs. Weekends have to be therapeutic so that our hearts can resume normalcy. Though back in a familiar place, I somehow don't feel the same. The reality has kicked in and my eyes are even more widened to what goes on behind the scenes of teaching. Never expected this trip to be so fulfilling and satisfying. Every minute details were taken care of and basically nothing went wrong except for the last day but shall save that for later! The weather turned for the better upon my arrival and the sun shone its favor on us throughout our trip. His goodness is this tangible. In a nutshell, the experience has been fantastic. For the first time, I returned home feeling soooooo refreshed. I know He truly knows me best and once again, I was not shortchanged in any ways. THE FOOD What is a holiday without yummy food! While I was disappointed I didn't get to find my oyster mee sua and try the fermented beancurd, I was satisfied with whatever I found as I walked the streets. Honestly, I did not think whatever was recommended on guidebooks were of any great deal, in fact, the foodie in me took absolute delight in trying what the locals ate and unfortunately, they are not given their due credit. Gracie is zipping off again. This time a brief 6-days to Taiwan. I always crave to be away for at least a month but alas, its not the time yet. Wonder when my lil' dream will come to pass?? Breaks are so precious these days that I don't know if I'm guarding them too much! Actually come to think of it, if I am not out of Singapore, my breaks aren't actually breaks. I'm amazed at how my travel kakis cross paths with me. Totally random encounters and usually, the friendship blossoms from there. Lovely. Some may think my hobby (travelling) is kinda expensive and no doubt it is....and it doesn't help that we moulders of the next generation can only holiday during peak seasons! Just came in from watching "Unmistaken Child", a Tibetan film showing @ Picturehouse, with Joani. We both share rather similar taste for foreign films and so far most of what we caught have not disappointed us in any way. Since there are not many culturally 'atas' humans like us being breed in Singapore, we are always guaranteed seats in the theatre. Oh by the way, did I mention this was another of our spontaneity in action!!!?? We met in Bishan for late lunch but no plans thereafter, and we later decide to trudge down to Cathay for the show. Our last minute planning always bear good fruits. So our mantra is " Plan to have no plans!". Just returned from a 3days-2nights getaway in KL with the girls. At long last, we finally got our asses out of Singapore to somewhere although it was far from our original intention of Greece! In the words of Joani, " How the mighty has fallen". Truly truly. Nonetheless, it was fantastic! Great company (a given!), great food, great shopping, great conversations, great jokes and adventures! With the 3 of us together, it will be purely HILARIOUS FUN! And boy, we were treated to non-stop laughters from Day 1.
